Here in the States it is coming up on Thanksgiving which is a big thing around my house. I am cleaning and moving stuff around. Big stuff like the frig and the stove. Moving the couch to put up the tree. Hung up the lights around the house but now she has bought more! It is getting cold out but the leaves are still falling. All the leaves an the whole block seem to blow onto my lawn! Go figure, right? If I don't clean them up then the grass dies. Went to do it yesterday because it was warmer and sunny but as soon as I went out the wind started gusting! The trees, they mock me! lol.
I am not a big fan of winter. I have been trying to move south all my life but I cant seem to get down there. New Orleans would be nice. All that great music and southern charm. Went there once it was very spooky at night. They say that vampires really do live there. Austin is supposed to awesome. I loved Texas, the sky and the bright light. It was really stunning how blue and large the sky was. The gulf coast water was warm. Corpus Christi was serene and beautiful.
It reminds me of my brother, Corpus Christi. Even though he didn't like it very much. We fished and had fun camping there. I think it was too bright for him. I have never been somewhere with the sun so intense. It was like another planet. It was another time. It is places like this that make me believe.
Even the deep cold dim winter is beautiful. The earth hard as steel and the wind as sharp as nails. Or the hush of snow, so white and mysterious, covering everything and making it quiet. I do like the beach in the winter. It is so cold and everything is closed up except for some little dinner down the end. We would walk around exploring and freezing in our galoshes and super thick hunting socks, sweat pants under our jeans. Big fat gloves and scarves and thick watch cap pulled down the ears to keep the wet cold wind out.
The cold only makes the air smell saltier and the salt makes the ice turn to slush so the board walk is shiny black. The waves sound so much louder in the winter almost like thunder, the way it crashes down on the beach. How do the Seagulls stay alive out there? We'd climb into that tiny dinner, take off our gloves, drink coffee, smoke and smile with rosy cheeks. Maybe I will head back there this winter, in search of that serene beauty that inspires and makes me believe.

Its a kind of sad time for me but I will push through. My best friend died 3 weeks ago Saturday. Matrix was my dog, my dearest friend and companion for 12 years. He will be sadly missed. I feel very blessed to have known him and have many happy memories. Life is fleeting and furious as fire and he lived it well. God Bless and keep you.

It was 80 degrees in Vegas when I left in March.
It is finally 80 here on the east coast.
